The Story of Bed & Breakfast

Bed & Breakfast holds a special place in music history as Germany's first major homegrown boyband. Formed in Hamburg in 1995, the group was the German answer to the British pop invasion led by Take That. The original quartet—Daniel Aminati, Florian Walberg, Kofi Ansuhenne, and David Jost—quickly became the faces of Bravo magazine and teen pop culture across Central Europe.

Their debut album, Stay Together (1995), was a massive success, peaking at Number 20 on the German charts and producing chart-topping singles like "Stay Together" and "If You Were Mine." However, at the peak of their initial fame in 1996, Daniel Aminati departed the group to pursue a solo career and what would become a legendary career in television hosting. The group continued as a trio, releasing the more experimental album In Your Face, before touring extensively across Europe and Asia until their split in 1999.

What makes Bed & Breakfast truly remarkable is the "Powerhouse" status the members achieved after the band's dissolution. By 2026, the members are arguably more famous for their post-boyband ventures: David Jost became one of the world's most successful music producers (the mastermind behind Tokio Hotel and hits for Lady Gaga), Florian Walberg became a multi-millionaire entrepreneur in the electric mobility sector, and Daniel Aminati remains one of Germany's most recognizable TV presenters on ProSieben.

Even decades later, their impact on the European pop landscape is undeniable. They paved the way for future German boybands like The Boyz and Touche. Today, their hits remain nostalgic staples on 90s playlists, and their journey serves as the ultimate blueprint for turning teen superstardom into long-term professional success in the global entertainment and business industries.
