The Story of Worlds Apart

Worlds Apart is a multinational English boyband formed in 1992 that famously became one of the biggest pop acts in French music history. Originally envisioned by manager Garry Wilson as a five-piece ensemble representing a blend of different cultures, the initial lineup included Steve Hart, Schelim Hannan, Patrick Osborn, Aaron Poole, and Dan Bowyer. While they achieved modest success in the UK, it was a change in lineup and a move across the English Channel that sparked a true phenomenon.

In 1994, with Nathan Moore (formerly of Brother Beyond) and Cal Cooper joining the fold, Worlds Apart landed in France. Their second album, Everybody, turned them into overnight superstars. Their bilingual cover of Jean-Jacques Goldman’s "Je Te Donne" topped the French charts for months, selling over 700,000 copies. They effectively pioneered the "boyband mania" in France, performing to sold-out arenas and becoming fixtures on every major television network.

Despite numerous lineup shifts over the decades—including the addition and departure of Tim Fornara—long-time members Steve Hart, Nathan Moore, and Cal Cooper have maintained the group's legacy as a powerhouse trio. Their ability to record in multiple languages, including French, German, and Spanish, allowed them to maintain a strong presence throughout Europe when other contemporary bands began to fade.

As of 2026, Worlds Apart remains highly active on the nostalgia circuit, particularly in France where they are celebrated as icons of the 90s pop era. They continue to headline major festivals and "Génération 90" tours, proving that their harmonies and choreographed performances are just as captivating today as they were during their chart-topping prime.
