The Story of MN8

MN8 were a premier British R&B boyband formed in the early 1990s, celebrated for bringing a smooth, authentic New Jack Swing sound to the UK pop charts. The group’s classic line-up featured KG (Kevin Gabriel), G-Man (G. Williams), Kule T (Clyde Williams), and Dee Tails (Dion Howell).

They exploded onto the scene in early 1995 with their debut single “I Got a Little Something for You”. The track wasn't just a UK hit; it became a global R&B anthem, reaching the top five in several countries and earning the group a spot on tour with Janet Jackson. Their debut album, To the Next Level, further cemented their status as the UK's answer to American groups like Boyz II Men or Jodeci.

Throughout the mid-90s, MN8 maintained a steady presence in the charts with a string of Top 10 and Top 20 hits. Their second album, 1996's Freaky, saw them lean into a more mature, street-edged R&B sound, collaborating with high-profile producers to refine their musical direction.

The group eventually disbanded in 1999 as the musical landscape shifted toward teen-pop. Since then, the members have remained active in the industry; Dee Tails transitioned into a successful acting career (appearing in Star Wars and Doctor Who), while Kule T and the others have continued to produce and perform within the music and entertainment sectors.
