The Story of Auryn
Auryn is widely regarded as the most successful Spanish boyband in history. Formed in 2010, the group brought a "British-style" pop sound to Spain, singing in both English and Spanish. The quintet—comprised of Dani Fernández, Blas Cantó, Carlos Marco, Álvaro Gango, and David Lafuente—first gained massive traction on YouTube before placing third in the 2011 Spanish Eurovision selection process, Destino Eurovisión.
Between 2011 and 2016, Auryn dominated the Spanish charts. Their debut album, Endless Road, 7058, became a breakout hit, but it was their subsequent releases under Warner Music that turned them into a phenomenon. With three consecutive Number 1 albums in Spain and an MTV EMA for Best Spanish Act, they proved that a localized boyband could compete with international giants like One Direction.
In July 2016, the band announced a "temporary break" that evolved into long-term solo careers. As of 2026, their legacy is more prominent than ever. Dani Fernández has become one of Spain's leading male rockers, winning prestigious awards and filling stadiums, while Blas Cantó represented Spain at Eurovision 2021 and remains a powerhouse in the vocal pop scene. Carlos Marco, Álvaro Gango, and David Lafuente have also continued to influence the industry through production, writing, and solo projects.
Though the members remain focused on their individual paths, Auryn remains a gold standard for pop music in Spain.
